OWYn protein powder review
As a food allergy mom I always find myself looking for everyday essentials like protein powder to be a challenge as most companies have at least one or more of the top 8 allergens in their facility and that's a No, No in our home. So while on my search I found OWYN (Only What You Need) protein because it caught my eye as they listed that they are a top 8 free protein powder. I contacted them through email to confirm that they where top 8 free and they sent me over some samples as an exchange I would create a recipe for them. You can find my recipes of OWYN overnight latte oats and Sugar cookie overnight OWYN oats. It's 100% plant base, but without the chalky/ grainy aftertaste, it has 20 grams of protein and it's Non-GMO verified. If you have a seed allergy or are allergic to legumes this product is not for you. Unfortunately it does contain pumpkin seeds and peas as the source of protein (my 8 year old is severely allergic to peas so this isn't safe for her). My favorite thing beside everything else I have mentioned is that it only contains 4 grams of sugar and it has organic greens plus more than 500mg of Omega 3's.
One thing I love to make with protein powders is overnight oats. Perfect for when your on the go and non-stop afternoons they are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. I even pre-make them by putting in all dry ingredients into a glass jar, that way all I have to do is just add my vanilla and choice of milk. I will pre-make about 10 jars and place them away on a shelf, when I know i wont have time to make breakfast the next day I grab a pre-made jar and add the milk, there has even been unexpected days where I have to run out the door so I grab a pre-made jar and add the milk once I am ready to eat it's perfect! You can buy OWYN here and make sure you use the discount code NONUTSF18 at checkout. This review is based off of my own thoughts and liking I do NOT make any money on this product. Hope you enjoyed my review and recipes.
