Guy's i'm excited to say that I have been invited to the Celiac Disease Foundation National Education Conference and Gluten Free Expo in Pasadena, California as a blogger. The Celiac Disease Foundation is a non-profit, public benefit corporation dedicated to accelerating diagnosis, treatments, and a cure for celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity through research, education, and advocacy. Celiac disease can be difficult to diagnose because it affects people differently. There are also more than 200 known celiac disease symptoms which may occur in the digestive system or other parts of the body. Here is a list taken from Celiac.org to help you identify some symptoms so you and your doctor can speak about the next steps that need to be taken in diagnosing you.
- abdominal bloating and pain
- chronic diarrhea
- vomiting
- constipation
- pale, foul-smelling, or fatty stool
- weight loss
- fatigue
- irritability and behavioral issues
- dental enamel defects of the permanent teeth
- delayed growth and puberty
- short stature
- failure to thrive
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- unexplained iron-deficiency anemia
